The Email Writer collaborates with key line of business stakeholders and Marketing colleagues to develop e-mail communications and supporting content that effectively connects FTI products/solutions to the target audience needs, desires, fears and business drivers in a timely, relevant and impactful manner.

Responsibilities include:

The successful candidate will write, tailor and/or edit compelling e-mail content that aligns with strategic business goals and capitalizes on short-term opportunities.

This requires:
A detailed understanding of the stakeholder objectives, strategies, and tactics (and the role played by the e-mails in the contact strategy)
A deep understanding of FTI campaigns, products, and solutions
A strong knowledge of the target market, the e-mail medium, and the “voice” of the Sales Team
A good knowledge of the compliance requirements
You will work with Marketing colleagues, Product Management, Portfolio Management, and key stakeholders to develop and tailor marketing content to provide impactful “calls to action” for the e-mails. The messaging must connect with FTI business objectives and the needs, desires, fears and/or drivers of the target audience.

The Email Writer will project manage the e-mail content development process to ensure that e-mails and supporting content are written, approved, translated and delivered according to established schedules. Also collaborate with Marketing colleagues and key stakeholders to ensure that the analysis of metrics and front line feedback are taken into account for future e-mail communications, campaigns, and programs.
Qualifications

Ideal candidates will have:
Bachelor’s degree required, preferably with a major in English, Journalism, or Communications
Minimum three years professional writing experience required, preferably for e-mail and/or online writing in the investment industry
Successful completion of the Canadian Securities Course strongly preferred
Knowledge of advisor-sold mutual funds and the business drivers/desires/fears of investment advisors
Curiosity/interest in exploring/testing/adopting/exploiting new technologies to increase customer engagement
Proven/demonstrable written communication skills - must be able to write in a voice and tone that is appropriate to the FTI brand and the target audience
Strong ability to connect the strategies, benefits, and results of the FTI products/solutions with the needs of the target market clearly, succinctly, and meaningfully
Proven ability to handle multiple projects and manage commitments to ensure quality work is completed within tight timelines
Ability to produce effective communications tailored to reach the target audience in the digital medium
Ability to interact effectively with senior leaders and business partners in Sales, Product Management, Marketing Technology, Marketing, Legal and Portfolio Management
Ability to incorporate feedback and analysis to continually improve process efficiencies and effectiveness of the e-mails
Ability to edit/revise content in response to concerns raised by stakeholders and other reviewers
Ability to discern commonalities among advisors based on attributes and segmentation models, leveraging that to craft targeted campaigns
Ability to use judgment as to when to escalate issues to senior management in Sales and Marketing
Ability to hear and speak to employees/management and business colleagues in person and on the phone
